Transportation
The way to Machu Picchu is not exactly easy, but the scenery along the way will make it all worth it. First take the train from Ouyantai to the small town of Aguas Calientes, also commonly known as the town of Hot Springs. This town is located at the foot of Machu Picchu and is the stopping point for many tourists who come here. Surrounded by green hills, the town has many hotels, stores, restaurants and bars, making it a small but lively town. From the train station, you can pass by the "Machu Picchu" marker on your way to the town.
Accommodation
Sumaq Machu Picchu Hotel is located in a relatively remote part of town, but it is only a 10-minute walk from the train station, and it is quieter than the hotels in the town centre. Machu Picchu ruins
Visitors can choose to take a bus up to Machu Picchu after breakfast at the bus station in Hot Springs. Not far from the train station in the town is the place where Machu Picchu bus tickets are sold. It is important to note that bus tickets must be bought a day in advance and Machu Picchu tickets must also be booked online in advance. As the bus moves slowly, Machu Picchu emerges in full before your eyes, overlooking the ruins of the ancient Inca Empire, you can imagine the former prosperity of these ruined walls. The clouds at Machu Picchu change particularly quickly, and the hidden Machu Picchu is very dreamy. The highest viewpoint of Machu Picchu is the best place to take a panoramic view of Machu Picchu. Of course, there is more than just this one viewpoint. On the way up the mountain, take pictures of Machu Picchu from various viewpoints, every angle is spectacular, not missing any opportunity to be in the same frame with Machu Picchu. At the bottom of the valley cliff on the left is the rushing Urubamba River. The terraces and houses on the hillside are still clearly visible.
The view deck also looks up to the cloudy summit of Huayna Picchu, which is also part of the ruins, although Huayna Picchu is more treacherous and has a limit on the number of visitors per day. Sometimes there are wild alpacas here, lazily strolling through the meadows, and visitors can see Peruvian alpacas up close.
